emails lost forever
February 4th, 2009In a long, strange, string of events, I have lost the last years worth of Keogistics (my small company) email….it feels empty, but yet clean - an open slate…
Granted I’m writing strange emails like “what was that guy’s email address again?” Or going to google to track down old leads and contacts - but with today’s social networks and web-based systems, what good is email anymore?
I’ve been migrating myself off of sending documents as we start using Google Docs in a company that I work with - granted it’s not the fasted application (web-based spreadsheeting) - but it serves a simple purpose of putting thoughts and simple models on a central system and sharing it. Think about it - how often do you author a document that you don’t need to email or share?
First it was the printer - granted I just used the printer to send a correspondence to the IRS - but that’s the IRS…I think email is next - and good riddance…
So for now, I am starting a new with Google for Domains hosting Keogistics email - just 20 emails in my inbox (vs. the 11,000 at the old Keogistics exchange setup). And I’m Microsoft free!!!
